Course Description:
Marketing is a fast-paced course which introduces students to the skills, strategies, and topics that make up the ever-changing world of marketing. Course content includes units of study in consumer behavior, sales, planning, pricing, promotion, merchandising, distribution, and ethics. Taught in a business computer lab, marketing is a technologically advanced course which allows students to study the latest advertising strategies utilized by online businesses, as well as traditional print and broadcast media. For the course finale, students use Virtual Business software to compete in an online, international computer marketing simulation. This course satisfies the district computer proficiency requirement for graduation. Computer applications is a recommended [not required] prerequisite for this course, and it is open to 11th and 12th grade students.
