As an alternative to completing a business or technology course, you may elect to fulfill the computer proficiency requirement by completing six of the following components of the computer proficiency challenge exam:  (NOTE:  The word processing component is required—Choose five more from the list below)

 

 

  1. Word processing—arrange a personal business letter or format a report
  2. E-mail—send e-mail with an attachment to the test proctor
  3. Internet—research and copy the information to a word processing document
  4. General computer knowledge—forty multiple-choice questions (70% accuracy required)
  5. PowerPoint presentation—create presentation as instructed
  6. Web page design—create one-page Web page with Internet links
  7. Spreadsheet—insert formulas for calculating
  8. Database—create and run query on simple database
  9. Desktop Publishing—insert information in the form of a newsletter
  10. Networking – forty multiple-choice questions over basic networking fundamentals
