FlexTime

What is FlexTime and what does this mean for students?
FlexTime is a designated time during the school day for students to meet with one of their teachers to make up assignments, get additional support or reteaching, access a quiet study hall or attend unique enrichment lessons to ensure student success. FlexTime at the high school level helps students succeed by providing academic, emotional, and behavioral support. FlexTime will occur three days per week during 4th period (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) with students and teachers choosing student FlexTime locations.
FlexTime is designed to build essential skills, improve grades, and offer personalized attention, ensuring students stay on track and are prepared for their future. This isn't just for struggling students—it's also beneficial for high-achieving students by providing enrichment opportunities, personalized feedback, and additional resources.
When is FlexTime starting?
Students will select their first FlexTime locations on August 25th during Advisory and attend their first FlexTime on Tuesday August 26th.
What is Advisory?
Advisory will be held Mondays during 4th period from 11:29am - 11:59am. During the weekly advisory period, students will view the weekly video announcements, learn about upcoming school events, engage in short lessons and have time to build relationships with grade level peers and their assigned advisor. Students will also review their academic progress and select their FlexTime locations for the week.
The goal of advisory is to provide students a sense of belonging and develop not only a stronger sense of self but also develop Foothill pride and community.
